Eswatini (Swaziland), Africa
Manifold Mercies is pleased to be partnering with Morgan Jones from Adventures In Missions for our expansion to Africa!
Morgan is a full-time missionary to the people of Eswatini (formerly Swaziland), Africa where she is working to provide practical and spiritual support to the people there. In March 2017, Manifold Mercies conducted our first short-term mission trip to Swaziland
to assist Morgan in her efforts and enjoyed a repeat trip in 2019. We have partnered financially with Morgan since 2014 and we are excited to be able to put our hands-to-the-plow to assist in her efforts.

**Here is a message, in Morgan's own words, about her work and the work that our mission team will be doing to support her:
"A Carepoint is a place in different communities that is a safe place for the surrounding children to come for a free meal and discipleship on a daily basis. At each Carepoint, we have what is called a shepherd, who is a person from that community. He/she goes to the Carepoint 4 days a week to be with the kids and for daily discipleship. They do many other things!!! During my visits to the Carepoints, I just hang out and play with the kids, encourage them in their life and school work, share Christian life concepts, and I make sure everything is going okay with the shepherd and the staff. That's what we will do when going to a few Carepoints...sitting in the dirt and playing with the kids! They love games. And you can share the Gospel in your own way, either through games or in conversation. The main language that they speak is Siswati, but the older kids will speak English! They actually have to study English in school every year to pass!
When doing a home visit to a Carepoint child, we just go to encourage that child to do well in school and we also disciple and encourage the child’s family! We read scripture, share a testimony, and just be an encouragement! Our team will do a "home visit packet"...which includes a bucket full of goodies (candles, matches, tea, sugar, salt, other things) plus a bag of beans, rice and mealie meal (corn meal). The reason we take a home visit packet of food, is to thank the family for letting us visit. And since we have been in such a huge drought for about a year, it provides the family with food.
The team will be visiting about 5-6 out of 34 of our Carepoints! We will spend a couple of hours at each...to meet the shepherd and to hang out with some of the kids. If the team wants to bring some bubbles or something small like that, we can take those to play with the kids. It’s so nice to just sit in the dirt and love on some kids who have never felt that love before! We like to tell all of our teams, that with over 6800 kids that we feed on a daily basis, we can't love on each and every one of them every day! So it is nice to have people come over and to help us show God's love to the kids, the ladies that cook at the Carepoints, and our staff!"
