Serving the community

Manifold Mercies is please to partner with several local Ukrainian organizations to bring personal assistance to the most vulnerable people in the village areas.

Our team serves in several remote areas of Ukraine: Svaliava and Mukachevo in Zakapattia Oblast, Chynadiiovo Orphanage and Polohy-Chobitky village in the Pereiaslav Region.

Daily food distribution

Prepare

Our team of volunteer chefs prepare a full course, homemade, hot meal every day.

provide

We serve an average of 30-50 people each day; mostly elders with little to no other daily food resource.

participate

The kitchen is maintained by a team of very faithful and skilled volunteers from the community.
Way of Life Center has been serving a free hot meal every day since the beginning of the war 2 1/2 years ago. On our most active day we were able to serve 300 people in one day! On average now, we serve about 30-40 people per day. These are Svaliava's most vulnerable people who have limited personal resources and very little on which to survive. This daily meal is their only source of nutrition.

In addition, there are several homebound residents who cannot physically come to the Center. We are able to hand-deliver the meal to them every day providing them with, not only food, but much needed social interaction.

Here is a breakdown of the funding necessary to operate the Center's Food Program:
It takes approximately 40,000 Ukrainian Grivna to operate for one month.
That converts to just under $1000 US dollars.

Approximately $350 of that is consumed by electricity and water.
The remaining $650 is used to purchase food products.
These food products prepare the 1000-1200 plates of hot food in one month.

Result: it takes about $1 per day to feed each person that comes to the Center!

Weekly orphanage visits

Each week our team from the Way of Life Center travels to Chynadiiovo Orphanage
to deliver snacks and activities to over 50 orphan children. What a treat for these kids to receive
love and attention from people outside the orphanage. Ice cream is their favorite!

It takes about $50 US dollars to accomplish this weekly visit to the orphanage.

Village provisions

People in the Ukrainian villages are hardy and self-preserving with what they have.
Sadly, they do not have very much!
Medicine is a limited commodity, even basic pain relievers or antiseptics.
Our team provides these basic needs to the village of Polohy-Chobitky,
a place where our American team has visited many times and has established relationships.
A little funding goes a long way in the village for food, firewood, and medicines.
