Way of Life Center has been serving a free hot meal every day since the beginning of the war 2 1/2 years ago. On our most active day we were able to serve 300 people in one day! On average now, we serve about 30-40 people per day. These are Svaliava's most vulnerable people who have limited personal resources and very little on which to survive. This daily meal is their only source of nutrition.
In addition, there are several homebound residents who cannot physically come to the Center. We are able to hand-deliver the meal to them every day providing them with, not only food, but much needed social interaction.

Here is a breakdown of the funding necessary to operate the Center's Food Program:
It takes approximately 40,000 Ukrainian Grivna to operate for one month.
That converts to just under $1000 US dollars.
Approximately $350 of that is consumed by electricity and water.
The remaining $650 is used to purchase food products.
These food products prepare the 1000-1200 plates of hot food in one month.
Result: it takes about $1 per day to feed each person that comes to the Center!

Village provisions
People in the Ukrainian villages are hardy and self-preserving with what they have.
Sadly, they do not have very much!
Medicine is a limited commodity, even basic pain relievers or antiseptics.
Our team provides these basic needs to the village of Polohy-Chobitky,
a place where our American team has visited many times and has established relationships.
A little funding goes a long way in the village for food, firewood, and medicines.
